It has been widely reported that the UK Ministry of Defence intends to destroy all future reports of UFOs after 30 days.

One possible reason for this could be so the information does not have to be released under future FOI (Freedom Of Information) requests, or passed to national archives.

The reports cite that the information came to light after a memo, dated November 11, 2009, was obtained in response to an FoI request made by Dr David Clarke, a lecturer in journalism at Sheffield Hallam University.

According to Dr. Clarke, the MoD (Ministry of Defence) recorded 634 UFO sightings in 2009, the second highest ever annual total. The record was set in 1978, when there were 750.

The MoD has already released many files relating to UFOs.

There are undoubtedly many sightings for which there are rational explanations such as weather phenomena, meteorites, satellites etc as well as deliberate hoaxes,

However, there are a relatively small number for which no satisfactory explanation seems to be put forward. Experienced pilots and astronauts have made such reports.

"Conventional" science may give the impression that space travel between planets is not possible because of the huge distances involved, and yet several ways in which this could happen, with advanced technology, have been suggested. Space / time could be curved, anti-gravity techniques could conceivably be used etc. etc.

UFOs are simply Unidentified Flying Objects, so they certainly do exist! As for what they are...that is the mystery!
